The UCD “Jazz Soc” are comitted to spreading the joy of Jazz to the pupils and general public of Dublin. With Limited funding and a membership fee of only two euro the society rely on their generous patrons and symphathetic Irish musicians in order to keep things up and running. The society is closely linked to Newpark School of Jazz and as a result attracts it's talented teachers and instrumentalists to perform masterclasses and concerts. The society also encourages jamming and the harmonisation of readers of music and those who play by ear. The society's major annual events include a trip to the Cork Jazz Festival and The Odd Ball held in conjunction with UCD Comedy Soc. We are constantly looking for good people to collaborate with.
